For your Initial Consultation, please wear loose clothing and bring along any relevant medical reports, for example for any MRI’s or x-rays and information on any medication you are taking including doseages. In particular, if you have an upper body problem, you may be asked to remove some clothing, so please wear a thin vest if you prefer this.
Firstly, a record card will need to be completed to get a clear picture of the issues being experienced and any medical history. An examination will then take place to confirm a diagnosis, including neurological and orthopaedic testing, with Isabelle explaining what she is doing and finding as she goes along.
So long as examination doesn’t indicate any need for referral elsewhere, Isabelle will begin treatment, explaining what she is doing as she goes through the treatment. Treatment consists Chiropractic adjustments to get any ‘stuck’ joints moving and often some soft tissue work to help expediate muscle release, such as massage and stretching.
Following treatment, Isabelle will discuss your diagnosis with you, your likely prognosis and how you can go forward both with Chiropractic Care and also self help for at home, such as icing and stretching.
You are welcome to book a follow up appointment at this stage, the norm would be for a few days following the Initial Consultation, depending on the diagnosis.
Once you are at a point where your pain levels and functionality have been restored, you are encouraged to come in for a check up treatment periodically to keep everything working properly!
Sports & Remedial Massage is a deep soft tissue technique used to rehabilitate and prevent sports injuries and enhance performance. A variety of soft tissue techniques are used including massage, trigger point and isolated stretching, which proves very useful to sports people who may have over used their muscles or have an upcoming event for which they are preparing.
